Why Single Dals Give Incomplete Protein
Plant proteins are often “incomplete” – they contain all amino acids but in insufficient ratios for full protein synthesis. The concept of limiting amino acids means your body can only build as much protein as the lowest amino acid allows, regardless of total protein quantity consumed. For toor dal, the limiting amino acid is methionine. For urad, it is tryptophan. For moong, it is threonine.
Combining multiple dals in one meal covers each limitation with another dal’s strength. This is why traditional Indian cuisine intuitively created panchmel dal and dal panchratan. Woitpure Mixed Dal is this principle, formulated with specific proportions rather than random mixing.
The Blend – What is Inside and Why These Ratios
Chana dal (30%) as the protein base with low GI. Toor dal (25%) for flavour, digestibility, and methionine. Masoor dal (20%) for fast cooking, iron, and folate. Urad dal (15%) for phosphorus, tryptophan, and texture variation. Moong dal (10%) for easy digestion and additional B-vitamins. The result is a blend where the cooking times and textures also complement each other naturally.
- 24g protein per 100g – higher than any single dal
- All 9 essential amino acids present and covered
- Multiple iron sources – 3 of 5 dals are high-iron varieties
- Natural texture variation from varied cooking rates
- All 5 dals certified organic
